I think the 6OGs have made clear our appreciation of the late great Steve Albini. But alas, in our tributes we fell a little short. We failed to mention Mclusky, the British post-hardcore noise rock band that, in their first go-round, collaborated with Albini on their second and third studio albums – Mclusky Do Dallas and The Difference Between Me and You Is I’m Not on Fire, respectively, the latter of which precipitated the band’s breakup.
To be fair, it seems that Andy Falkous, guitarist and singer for Mclusky, had some issues with Albini during the recording of The Difference Between Me and You…. But as they say, time heals all wounds. It’s hard to argue with the results.
