So much good music this year, which has certainly helped me get through it.

I haven't gotten to some of these like Shallowater and haven't given enough time to The Cords or Horsegirl. Hard to get to it all.

Really appreciate your list and the work done here all year!

And you, happy new year to come, I hope Tucson treats you right. CP is a twangy insightful singer/songwriter. Snooper is fast-hitting "egg punk". The last 2 are kinda art/experimental. They both played Songbyrd in the fall but I couldn't make either. Hope you find so.ething to like. I cued up The Cords this morning .... instant winner, even with my wife who finds my taste often dubious.

And all sound like interesting choices. Will report back.

On first listens to each, really love Snooper and even more Wombo. Will explore those both much more. Carmen Perry didn't quite rise above a lot of other similar sounding records, and Sorry had some great moments (sampling "Hot Freaks" is in line with so much else we've written about re GBV but felt very up and down overall).

Cool, glad you dug some of it! This is the first full year I've tried to keep up with new music and it's pretty overwhelming. We gotta help each other out!

Indeed - and love what you brought. If you want to do keep it up and do some writing in 2026, we'd love to have some thoughts from OG David....

Really? I'm definitely O enough but it remains to be seen if I'm a G....could be fun, though. How would that work? Maybe send me an email dvanb at yahoo.

Glad to hear The Cords was an initial hit. I’d suggest putting on “transfixed gaze” by Tulpa (lower down on the list) after to keep the vibe going.

Thanks for the wrap-up! Stuff I loved this year that you all put me on to: Horsegirl, Yugen Blackrok, GFB, Los Piranas. Stuff I found separately and also dig: Mei Semones, Sharp Pins, Wednesday. A few favorites you didn't cover: Carmen Perry (Eyes Like a Mirror), Sorry (Cosplay), Snooper (Worldwide), Wombo (Danger in Fives).

Thanks so much and love it all around. Don’t know those four you mentioned - look fwd to diving in. Best for the holidays and here’s to more great music in 2026.

That Acapulco Lips record is fantastic. Maybe I found it here (apologies for the fuzzy memory). Also nice to see Trash Mountain getting some love!

Thanks Kevin - I think I mentioned it on your weekly thread. It's great. And I think you turned me on to Lily Seabird, so we're even.
